Malleable Space

Design project, Construction design

08.01.2021

Understanding space and structural elements not in an absolute but rather questionable, transformable and malleable way, this project breaks with conformities around the permanence of architecture and intents to make space and it's dimensions tactile. Rather than architecture, the building acts like a piece of largescale furniture, answering to the needs and the imagination of the user. While only using principles of kinetic movement, the structure must be manipulated by hand. Thereby the user is challenged to make decisions and to react with the space. The project puts into question the meaning of architectural elements; fassade is floor, wall is staircase, roof is skyspace.
